SASKATOON — Louis Corkery, a director in Saskatchewan Health’s population health branch, was cited as saying that new regulations that would make restaurant health inspections public across the province could be presented to cabinet for approval as early as June, and that if the regulations are approved as proposed, Saskatchewan people would be able to submit a form to any regional health authority and get a copy of a health inspector’s report, adding, “The idea of the new regime is to make it quite clear the information is public.”
The story says that right now, the rules about what information is public are inconsistent across the province.
Technically, a freedom of information request will get you the information in the Saskatoon Health Region, but the restaurant in question has to approve the request.
