Kent, OH — Kent city health officials were cited as saying the bug that left 450 Chipotle Mexican Grill customers ill last week was sparked by a norovirus.
Test results confirm the severe nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and cramps were caused by the virus. Kent health commissioner John Ferlito says it will take a few days to conclusively pinpoint the source of the virus.
Chipotle officials say they aren’t sure it was the food. But the company has offered to pay the medical bills for anyone who got sick after eating at the restaurant last week.
