The Ministry of Health will spend around VND1.3 trillion (US$80.6 million) on six food safety and hygiene projects this year.
The projects will focus on improving the management of food safety and hygiene throughout the country including implementing better inspection techniques for food sold by vendors on the street.
Some of the projects will also target public education about food safety and hygiene, and a system will be implemented to better track and investigate food poisoning incidences and outbreaks of food-transmitted diseases.
