NEW YORK: An outbreak’s lessons - (The Post Star)

QUEENSBURY–People are upset with Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark, not so much from the norovirus that sickened them during a mid-March outbreak of gastrointestinal illness at the resort, but that Great Escape failed to properly warn and inform guests of a situation that sickened more than 500 people.
Great Escape officials say they could have done things differently, but the course they chose was based on advice from authorities.
The story says that it was business as usually on April 4 at Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark. The park has taken measures to help guests stay healthy, like installing numerous hand-sanitizing stations and using informational window signs to educate guests.
“They followed the guidance of the state Health Department,” said Dr. Marc Tack, an infectious disease specialist hired to consult with Great Escape on the outbreak.
