Olympic torch route altered to avoid protests
April 10, 2008 – 12:50 amAuthorities are bracing themselves for protests against the Olympic torch relay in San Francisco after anti-China demonstrators disrupted events in London and Paris. All police leave has been canceled, the route has been shortened and one torch bearer has already dropped out as the relay reaches its only U.S. stop.
