Queensland police are investigating another suspected case of food tampering after a 6cm metal object was discovered in uncooked meat in South Australia.
The latest find follows four earlier cases of suspected contamination in WA, Queensland and NSW.
A consumer in the Goldfields found the first evidence of contamination in a product bought at Coles in Kalgoorlie on January 5.
More than a month later another object was found in a product bought from Woolworths at Noosa in Queensland on February 17.
In March contaminated products were discovered in pre-packaged products in Woolworths, Gawler, South Australia; Bi-Lo at Alderley in Queensland; and Coles at Tweed Head South in NSW.
All cases are thought to be linked and relate to a distinct metal object found in uncooked pre-packed meat and frozen products.
The most recent find was in a meat product bought from Woolworths in Gawler that was being prepared for cooking on April 6.
