UK bank shares plunge in market turmoil

The roller coaster ride for global stocks continued Wednesday as markets swung sharply following a rally on Wall Street in the wake of another major interest rate cut by the U.S. Federal Reserve. Asian markets ended trade up, while Europe climbed on opening, but strayed into negative territory as the morning wore on.
