AUSTRALIA: Community in the dark about food safety in local hospitals - (IBN News)
February 26, 2008 – 6:38 pmAuthorities have, according to this story, refused to confirm or deny if local hospitals are among the facilities that failed food safety tests by the New South Wales Food Authority.
It was revealed yesterday that 166 of 171 public hospitals in NSW failed one or more standards in the independent, voluntary audits.
The Daily Telegraph said those hospitals “required one or more corrective actions” to meet new Food Authority guidelines, and that four hospitals failed completely, scoring an “unacceptable” rating.
But the state government and the Greater Southern Area Health Service has refused to reveal which hospitals they were.
The health service said the names of the facilities involved in the audits had not been disclosed.
