NEW ALBANY — More details surrounding a deadly E.coli outbreak that started last fall at Galena Elementary in Floyd County continue to unfold. Meanwhile, as WAVE 3’s Shayla Reaves reports, a fund has been set up to help the young victims, who are still recovering.
People were shoving down food and shoving in dollars at a pancake fundraiser at Applebees on Lewis & Clark Parkway in Southern Indiana Saturday. That’s because the more they ate, the more they helped the E.coli victims in Floyd County.
“We’re raising money for the E.coli families,” said Sidney Jacobi, one of at least 8 Galena Elementary students who contracted E.coli last fall. “It feels pretty good.”
Now Galena Elementary is giving back through a Giving Fund set up by the school’s Parent Teacher Organization.
