Cost estimate for Hepatitis A clinics: $500,000 - (WGRZ)
February 14, 2008 – 9:23 pmSo far, more than 8300 people have been vaccinated. One Wegmans’ employee has been diagnosed with Hepatitis A. No new cases have been reported. For five days of clinics, cost estimates are at $500,000 dollars.
Dr. Anthony Billittier was quoted as saying, “When it comes to protecting the public’s health we need to do what we need to do.”
The vaccine was provided by New York State Department of Health, but Erie County paid for the immune globulin, the antibody given to infants and adults over 40.
