UK: Health chiefs give all-clear after nursery pupil contracts E.coli - (The Edinburgh Paper)
February 8, 2008 – 6:41 pmHealth officials were cited as saying there have been no further cases of E. coli after a child at a city nursery was found to have the bug this week.
The story says that the boy, who attends the Newhaven Nursery at the Next Generation leisure club on Newhaven Place, was diagnosed with the O157 strain of the potentially fatal infection.
Nursery bosses said the premises had been thoroughly disinfected after the youngster became infected through an “external source”.
