KENTUCKY: Dirty dining: WHAS11 investigation gets attention of Louisville Metro Council members - (WHAS11 TV)
February 7, 2008 – 5:49 pmLast week WHAS11 News told you about concerns with how the Metro Health Departments restaurant inspection program is posting grades. Our report got the attention of Louisville Metro Council members and that led to a special meeting Wednesday afternoon.
The story says that WHAS11 News uncovered overdue inspections, wrong placards and some restaurants not making the grade. Now the metro council is talking about it and the health department didnt like what some council members had to say.
Metro council members are trying to solve two main problems. One is that there arent enough inspections being done. The other is that inspectors are giving A placards when restaurants were supposed to get B placards. The confusion spread to the Louisville metro health and human needs committee meeting.
The first person to address the board was Mark Ohlmann, who has been documenting wrong placards and overdue inspections for three years.
