IRELAND: Two enforcement orders served in January - (Food Safety Authority of Ireland)
February 6, 2008 – 4:43 pmThe Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) today reported that two Enforcement Orders were served on food businesses during the month of January for breaches in food safety legislation pursuant to the FSAI Act, 1998. A Closure Order was served by environmental health officers (EHOs) in the HSE Southern Region on Junction House Take-Away, 1 Strand Street, Tramore, Waterford. An Improvement Order was also issued by EHOs in the HSE Dublin Mid Leinster Region on Steering Wheel Public House, Main Street, Clondalkin, Dublin 22.
Commenting on these Orders, Dr. John OBrien, Chief Executive, FSAI stated that these Enforcement Orders were necessary to protect consumers health.
Although it is encouraging to see a drop in the number of Enforcement Orders as compared with previous months, it is not a time to be complacent. Food safety and hygiene should be top of the list of resolutions for food businesses in 2008. I would urge […]
