Felix loses steam, could bring floods

Felix, downgraded to tropical depression status early Wednesday, was rapidly weakening as it crossed the mountains of Central America less than a day after making landfall as a fierce Category 5 hurricane. The once-powerful storm could produce heavy rains for the region, forecasters said.
