NORWAY: Fish factories under fire - (Aftenposten English)
January 28, 2008 – 8:01 pmNorwegian food safety authorities have, according to this story, uncovered poor hygiene at some local seafood processing plants, and Russian officials who earlier halted imports from Norway are critical as well.
Russian officials inspected around 20 Norwegian seafood plants that want to sell fish to Russian importers. The inspections, carried out before Christmas, led to several critical remarks about hygiene at the plants.
The Russians’ report will form the basis for decisions on which plants are allowed to export fish to the Russian market.
