COLORADO: Cow-opting the benefits of raw milk - (The Daily Camera)
November 23, 2007 – 10:59 pmBROOMFIELD — Cow shares are, according to this story, Colorado farmers answer to slaking a growing thirst for raw milk, touted for health benefits that range from a hearty immune system to increased concentration.
The story says that its illegal to sell or give away raw milk in the state, but buying into the cow turns consumers into owners, and drinking milk from your own cow is fine.
Luckily for raw-milk lovers, a wealth of it lies just past Broomfield city limits at Brightons Johnson Acres farm on York Street. Unluckily, theres a nearly 300-person wait to buy a share.
Annalis Johnson was cited as saying the raw milk is pricey nearly $7 per gallon but well worth it, adding, “The health benefits far outweigh the cost of the milk.”
