COLORADO: Cow-opting the benefits of raw milk - (The Daily Camera)

BROOMFIELD — Cow shares are, according to this story, Colorado farmers’ answer to slaking a growing thirst for raw milk, touted for health benefits that range from a hearty immune system to increased concentration.
The story says that it’s illegal to sell or give away raw milk in the state, but buying into the cow turns consumers into owners, and drinking milk from your own cow is fine.
Luckily for raw-milk lovers, a wealth of it lies just past Broomfield city limits at Brighton’s Johnson Acres farm on York Street. Unluckily, there’s a nearly 300-person wait to buy a share.
Annalis Johnson was cited as saying the raw milk is pricey — nearly $7 per gallon — but well worth it, adding, “The health benefits far outweigh the cost of the milk.”
