INDIAN: Single mom from Floyd County still hospitalized with E. coli - (News and Tribune)
November 23, 2007 – 10:34 pmAccording to this story, its been morethan seven weeks since William and his mother were both admitted to the hospital with an E. coli infection that has been linked to a string of eight other confirmed cases among Galena Elementary School students and family members.
Doctors believe Amelia Seraiah contracted the bacterial infection from her son, who was the ninth confirmed case in the outbreak. The eight other cases all have reportedly recovered and have been released from the hospital.
The story says that in the weeks Amelia Seraiah has been hospitalized, she has fought one battle after another medically and personally.
The single mother of five has experienced vital organ failure, blood clots, strep throat, staph infection and a myriad of medical tests, surgeries and procedures. She has lost her job at a Louisville staffing agency, her medical benefits with it and the home she was renting in Georgetown. On several occasions, […]
