TENNESSEE: Pie crusts recalled before Thanksgiving - (United Press International)
November 20, 2007 – 7:33 pmCOLLEGEDALE — Blue Planet Foods Inc. of Collegedale, Tenn., was cited as saying Monday it was recalling nearly 4,000 units of Hearty Life-brand Graham Pie Crusts because they contain undeclared almonds, milk and coconut.
People who are allergic to these ingredients run the risk of serious or life-threatening immune-system reactions if they consume the product, the company said. No illnesses related to eating the pie crusts had been reported, the company added.
The recalled pie crusts, distributed to supermarkets nationwide, have the codes “Best By 10 27 08 1″ or “Best By 10 27 08 3,” Blue Planet said.
