While we live at nearly 6,000 feet above sea level, we barely notice the thin air anymore. Like following the high-altitude directions on the box of brownie mix and tucking the sunscreen into the diaper bag even in the middle of winter, we’ve grown accustomed to making do with less oxygen per breath.
