The Pew Charitable Trusts, an independent nonprofit, is driven by the power of knowledge to solve today’s most challenging problems. Pew applies a rigorous, analytical approach to improve public policy, inform the public and stimulate civic life. The Health and Human Services Policy unit at Pew is launching a search to fill three positions for a new project focused on food safety. The Food Safety Initiative will focus on implementing a solution to help reduce the risk of produce contamination, and on identifying options to address the safety of imported food and how to improve the surveillance systems that alert us of food-borne illness outbreaks. The initiative is designed as a three-year project through the end of September 2010 and the positions will be based in Washington, D.C. The positions include:
