Health officials investigating norovirus outbreak in Redwood Falls - (WKBT/Associated Press)
November 1, 2007 – 8:02 pmREDWOOD FALLS, Minn. — Health officials are, according to this story, investigating an outbreak of food-borne illness at a Burger King restaurant in Redwood Falls.
Environmental health specialist Mary Woodford with Redwood-Renville County Public Health was cited as saying officials believe more than 30 people were sickened by norovirus after eating at the restaurant October 23rd through the 26th.
Woodford says the restaurant has sterilized all its surfaces, thrown out food that could possibly be contaminated and screened employees for illness.
She says several employees had also been ill with the virus, which causes diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, cramps and other symptoms.
The Minnesota Department of Health is helping in the investigation.
