CANADA: Calgary health officials warn of possible hepatitis A at restaurant - (The Canadian Press)

October 24, 2007 – 5:35 pm

Calgary — The Calgary Health Region is, according to this story, warning anyone who recently ate at a McDonald’s Restaurant in the city’s southeast to get vaccinated after a worker tested positive for hepatitis A.
McDonald’s has told the health region that it has closed the fast-food restaurant that saw about 600 financial transactions every day.
The restaurant is across the street from the Calgary Soccer Centre, and a message has gone out to soccer clubs that children who play there should be vaccinated.
Anyone who ate at the McDonald’s within the last 14 days also is being urged to get vaccinated at a specific clinic, while those who ate there after Oct. 1 should watch for signs of hepatitis A.
