U.K.: Littlecote House hotel shut down after guests and staff complain of vomiting and diarrhoea - (Newbury Today)

October 23, 2007 – 6:42 pm

An unidentified virus has struck at Littlecote House, forcing the hotel to send about 200 guests and staff home.
Managers at the house in Chilton Foliat alerted the environmental health office at Kennet District Council on Sunday (October 21) after residents started to complain of projectile vomiting and diarrhoea.
Principal Environmental Health officer Kelvin Pearce was cited as saying that, although it was presumptive guesswork at this time, the department thinks it could be a viral outbreak of gastro-enterritis, an airborne disease that can strike institutions such as hotels and schools.
