January 1, 1970 – 1:00 amTetuya Onoda, Windows Live Director zajmujący się rozwojem usług Live, przedstawił na spotkaniu z prasą nową koncepcję kluczowej dla firmy Microsoft usługi Windows Live Home. Została ona tak przemyślana, aby użytkownicy otrzymywali stały dostęp do najważniejszych usług Live, bez potrzeby jej czasochłonnej personalizacji.
Wszystkie ważniejsze moduły będą dostępne bowiem od razu po zalogowaniu się do usługi, dodatkowo można się tez spodziewać, że aktualna strona Live.com zostanie wycofana. Wersja 2.0 usługi przyniesie wiele ciekawych zmian z czego najważniejszą wydaje się być integracja oraz możliwość dostępu do różnych usług wprost z jednej głównej strony internetowej. Portal Windows Live Home umożliwi każdemu użytkownikowi dostęp do konta pocztowego oraz kontaktów Windows Live Hotmail. Poinformuje o nadchodzących spotkaniach dzięki usłudze Live Calendar, pozwoli na redagowanie blogów internetowych Live Spaces oraz co ciekawe pokaże stan ochrony komputera oraz na przykład informacje o ostatnim skanowaniu systemu na którym zainstalowany będzie program Windows Live OneCare.
