UK: Burton’s Foods recalls Jaffa Mallows - (Food Standards Agency)
September 26, 2007 – 7:18 pmBurton’s Foods Ltd has recalled certain batches of its Jaffa Mallows, because of a packaging error. The product contains milk (whey), which is not shown on the label or in the allergy advice. This makes the product unsafe for individuals with a milk allergy or a lactose intolerance.
The Food Standards Agency has issued an Allergy Alert.
Anyone who is allergic to milk or has a lactose intolerance is advised not to eat this product.
Product details
* Burton’s Jaffa Mallows (20 mallows in 250g pack)
* All codes made to date with a best before date of up to and including 01 March 2008
No other Burtons products are known to be affected.
Burton’s Foods has undertaken a product withdrawal of the affected mallows. Point-of-sale notices will be displayed in all stores to alert consumers about the recall, and that customers can return the product to obtain a refund voucher. The text of the notice can […]
