Five E. coli cases reported in Indiana - (The Courier-Journal)
September 24, 2007 – 9:02 pmHealth officials were cited as saying today that the number of confirmed cases of E. coli bacterial infection in Floyd County has increased to five and that two others are suspected.
Charlotte Bass, administrator of the Floyd County Health Department, was cited as saying all seven cases involve students at the same school.
Bass was further cited as saying that health workers were at the school all weekend and today, trying to pinpoint a source of the outbreak.
School officials said Friday that there did not appear to be a common cause but that the investigation was continuing.
