TEXAS: Virus likely cause of outbreak - (The Baylor Lariat)

The Waco-McLennan County Public Health District is, according to this story, continuing to investigate the cause of an outbreak of sickness among Baylor students last week.
After a Phi Kappa Chi fundraiser Aug. 28, several students visited the McLane Student Life Center with complaints of nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhea.
Head Nurse Nancy Keating was cited as saying last week that about 30 students had come in with similar symptoms.
Ann Davis, an epidemiologist for the health district, was cited as saying the chief complaint the health district received was violent vomiting.
Davis was further cited as saying there hasn’t been a direct correlation of these sicknesses and McAlister’s Deli where the fundraiser was held, adding, “Several people who ate there (McAlister’s) didn’t become ill. It is very hard to pinpoint the exact cause.”
