Safety at Mt Albert shops
September 9, 2007 – 2:00 amI have heard from several sources that people don’t feel safe in the Mt Albert shopping centre at night. This feeling seems to be especially strong amongst members of the chinese community., but I suspect it applies to many others as well. I consider this situation to be totally unacceptable and when elected I will push for
better lighting
more security cameras if necessary
better and more frequent policing
I am a strong advocate that every person in our community should feel safe and I would also lobby central government to deal better with violence and bullying like this.
Please tell me about your experiences, I am here to help. While our opposition is worrying about business signs I will be worrying about your safety!
