INDIA: Suspected food poisoning: 9 persons hospitalised - (The Hindu)
September 19, 2007 – 6:35 pmCoimbatore — Nine persons were admitted to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) on Tuesday afternoon on complaints of vomiting and nausea owing to suspected food poisoning, after they took lunch in a hotel near CMCH on Tiruchi Road.
The story says that that the nine persons had come to meet a patient admitted to the hospital and had gone to the hotel nearby and that a lizard was found in the lentils served for their meal. Following complaints, the police have registered a case against the hotel staff on charges of negligence, endangering the safety of others.
