Russia calls on Asian alliance for support

Russia has appealed to an Asian security alliance to support its actions in Georgia. The move comes as Russia tries to counterbalance mounting pressure from the West over its military action in Georgia and its recognition of two breakaway regions — Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
