NEW YORK: Health Department addresses Legionnaires’ Disease outbreak - (News 10 Now)
July 8, 2008 – 11:49 pmSYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Onondaga County Health Department is warning the public about a recent outbreak of Legionnaires’ Disease. Several cases have been reported over the past two weeks.
All the recent cases were in the Onondaga Hill area, which includes Community General Hospital.
Onondaga County Health Commissioner Dr. Cynthia Morrow said, “We are worried that there still might be some people in the community who have symptoms of pneumonia who don’t know that they need to see their doctor right away to see if they might have this particular form of pneumonia.”
