PENNSYLVANIA: Salmonella concerns benefiting local farmers - (WFMZ.com)

Nearly 1,000 people are now recovering from the recent salmonella outbreak. The Food and Drug Administration is now focusing its investigation on Mexico…and expanding the list of possible sources to include cilantro and jalapeno peppers. WFMZ’s Jackie Shutack went to the Emmaus Farmers’ Market to find out how the outbreak is affecting local farmers.
>> Reporter: At Tom’s Produce stand, shoppers are treated to crispy snow peas, sweet strawberries, and ripe zucchini.
>> “Our snow peas this week are a cross breed…give me two then!”
>> Reporter: Shawn Marie Hursh has been buying her produce here for three years…raising her one-year-old daughter on organic foods.
