AUSTRALIA: Kids at school in nappies - (Couriermail.com.au)

July 5, 2008 – 5:44 pm

Children as old as five are, according to this story, being sent to school in nappies because their parents cannot be bothered toilet-training them.
The problem has become so widespread that Education Queensland is drawing up a toilet-training fact sheet amid calls from teachers’ groups that nappy-wearing children be banned from attending school.
With the introduction of the Prep year, children as young as 4-1/2 are starting full-time schooling - a situation that has fuelled the explosion in nappies in the classroom.
Teachers believe the increasing use of full-time day care also has promoted a culture where it is normal for three and even four-year-olds to wear nappies.
