Mandela, Bush weigh in on Zimbabwe crisis
June 26, 2008 – 12:05 amThe Zimbabwe Electoral Commission ruled that Friday’s presidential runoff will proceed as planned despite the withdrawal of the opposition candidate, the panel’s chairman said. Meanwhile, Nelson Mandela called the violent crisis “a tragic failure of leadership,” and President Bush said the election appears to be a “sham.”
