TEXAS: Shoppers wary over Salmonella outbreak - (Victoria Advocate)

A raw tomato recall by H-E-B has made area shoppers somewhat hesitant to buy the juicy, red fruit.
Dicks Crestwood Food Store manager Colin Keag was quoted as saying, Weve had people asking all day if we can sell them, but theres no reason not to.”
Keag said the store received a fax Tuesday from Texas health officials saying their tomatoes were fine, based on where they were grown and when they were picked.
He also said he thought the store had been selling more tomatoes than normal on Wednesday.
A spokesman for the Victoria County Farmers Market said they were planning to have the same amount of freshly grown tomatoes as always when the market opens today.
