Raw milk supporters will rally Monday in support of dairy farmer Mark Nolt prior to his preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Susan Day.
The Mennonite father of ten, Nolt was led away in handcuffs after his farm was raided by police and state Department of Agriculture officials for a second time on April 25.
Nolt and supporters claim agents confiscated more than $25,000 worth of cheese and illegal raw milk products, along with parts of his processing equipment.
The law does not prevent people from selling raw milk, it just requires that they have a permit. Nolt used to have a permit but has said he refuses to get another one because it would not allow him to sell raw yogurt, soft cheeses and other dairy products.
