Zimbabwe’s opposition has asked the United Nations Security Council to appoint a special envoy to address the country’s deteriorating political and humanitarian crisis, but the council has taken no action, leaving the possible appointment of an envoy to U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
